boot off of a hacked bios. make sure you use a cd-rw for the install disc. change evoxdash.xbe to default.xbe before you burn the cd. Make sure you make an Xbox iso. here is a really easy tutorial to follow.

There is a chance your bioses are not set to load default.xbe from the cd
You need to look at the xbtool tutorials if you have further problems.

Once you open your bios in xbtool (RC4 key needed) you will see a section marked 'DVD' now in the box next to that there is the xbe name your bios is set to defaulty boot from cd make sure it's default.xbe if not change it and reflash your xenium or rewrite another CD this time changing the evoxdash.xbe name to be the same as the name in the box

something will only happen if the bios is set to show animation and then after that if it's set (in your case) somewhere to run xboxdash.xbe

Sounds to me like you have a chip install problem. Check your install of the chip itself. Do you see the Xenium os? If so, does it say that the bios loaded? You then need to flash the bios to your chip and check your quick  start settings to see what button you need to hold to load a particular bios.Or check to make sure that the the default bios is one that will allow you to load a different dashboard.
