How Long Should X-os Update Take?
« on: February 24, 2004, 07:04:00 PM »

My xbox did not reboot by itself. After about 5 minutes I just turned it off, flipped the switch and the new OS was installed.

Same thing for me except that I don't have used the switch but used the Recovery Mode from XeniumOS menu.

During the Update process, the LED on the chip is Green and Red, but the Red is hard to see (much dimmer than the Green).  You have to look quite closely to see it.  After the Update is done, it goes to full Green.

He is absolutely right. You have to look closely and you will notice a red LED on with the green one. In about 10-15 seconds, the red LED goes off and it makes a solid green. It should be easy to tell. The first time I updated, it rebooted itself. Then I was told to re-update for some problems I had and I had to self reboot. In conclusion, when the red LED goes off and the LED on the Xenium is SOLID Green, you can turn off your Xbox and when you turn it on, the new Xenium OS is right there waiting for you to use it!  wink.gif
