Is There A Powerbutton Stealth Mode?
« on: February 23, 2004, 05:18:00 PM »

Sorry for my naivety but I just want to know if there is a hold power button or reset button to turn off the mod chip. Pretty much I don't want to fiddle with dipswitches, Im trying to decide if swapping my XBIT for a xenium is worth it. Is there an easy way to turn of the switch, and I know this might be a little off topic but can you turn the chip off usig the remote if you have an LCD?

For a little more detail, the Xenium has its own OS.  With the newest update, turning the Xbox on by pressing the power button will make the Xbox directly load the default BIOS.  If you turn it on by pressing the eject button, the OS will load, where you can select any of your BIOSes, including the original which, in effect, turns the modchip off.

And yes, I believe that if you have the LCD, you can use the remote to navigate the OS menus, including choosing a BIOS.
