Question About A Xenium Feature
« Reply #30 on: February 27, 2004, 03:57:00 AM »

MORAL of this story:
If you can't do it yourself, go with someone who is accountable, i.e a business=pro installer (plus you support the community since they buy ads here and at other forums)
Our friend saved a few dollars initially but now the stress, anger, lost friendship(?) in my opinion has cost him a lot more.
Now I will step off the soapbox and say, "If you can't trust your friends, hire some more!".
And the torx driver and bits can be gotten at Sears also for around $10 (with a guarantee). I would never buy tools at an auction, too much risk of them being cheap knockoffs.

Question About A Xenium Feature

Weird...
He says it's a Chameleon 2, that he bought from a guy who buys 'em at easybuy2000.com

I'll take the box to him tomorrow to open it and see for sure. Another thing, can my xbox change name? I mean, before when I played Halo in system link, the name said "Saucy". Now, it says Snake. Does it change when installing another bios or something?

I'm just trying to gather evidence. Thanks a lot.

QUOTE
We are going to upgrade all pre-orders of the Cham2 for the new X-CHIP. If you ordered the Cham2 with an adapter, your X-CHIP will come with one as well.

From the horses mouth

Seeing as Xodus has gone and now we have OzXodus who knows who the heck manufactures those chips

EDIT EDIT I got a quick reply from a moderator...

It's manufactured by eb2k though I did find references to the same name on one other site... http://www.playxbox.szm.sk/X-Chip.htm
