Dvd Not Connecting To Modchip?
« on: February 21, 2004, 07:51:00 PM »

Ok, here is the situation, I flashed m7 onto my Xenium's first bank  with a modified x logo so I would know when it was booting up..

I have a new phillips, the new type that works with most cd-r, so I burnt the Evox ISO to my Compaq brand CD-RW at 4x with nero, but I did not put finalize cd, I had the settings at disc at once, no joliet etc... after I booted up the Xenium, i chose Evoxm7 bios, and it booted up.(the modified x logo) appeared and I popped the disc in...then the M.S. dash boots up saying your xbox can't recognize this disk(dirty disk error).... I named the evoxdash.xbe to default.xbe when I did this...any ideas?

P.S. I tried doing the built in FTP with new executer bios, by holding down a, but when I try and connect my p.c. and xbox with a cat5e crossover network cable from Radioshack, it says something like no route to hos...I am thinking I am unable to get a new dashboard on there...

P.s. I  added a 200 MB dummy file before the iso was created, so the iso is around 200 megs

I am yet to completely understand even one of your posts !

Your terminology is all over the place, please visit the FAQ forum and get the correct terms down, do that and/or make sure you read all the relevent tutorials/manuals and make sure you have an understading of what you are trying to do before you try doing it.

If that is beyond you please get someone who has succesfully done what you are trying to do to help you, it obvious from your repeated attempts to do the most basic things that there is something fundemental escaping you.

D.

ps: good luck !

jester.gif  Ok, I flashed evox m7, made evoxboot disc ISO by burning my Compaq Brand Cd-rw at 4x with nero, I turn on the box, choose evoxm7 from Xenium O.S. menu, it boots up, while evox m7 bios is booting i insert boot disc when the big x ani comes up, and it boots to M.S. dash and gives me dirty disc error..

Is this easy enough for you to understand? because if it not, which it probably is not I shall re explain in terms you really understand....

Ugga, ugg, ugga, bogu bugga, ugga...bios ugga!

Ok, don't start calling people names when they try to help you or you will not get any responses when you ask questions. That cave thing was a little over the top, and it wasn't even directed at me!

Now, on to your problem... Your burn is still not right. Try a different burn program, like Alcohol 120%, burn at the slowest possible speed on the highest quality media you can get, and you must finalize the CD.

Put the disk in the tray, turn OFF the XBOX, and reboot it using the EvoX bios. If the burn is good, the EvoX dash will load. BTW, the Philips drives are not the ones that read "everything" ... the Samsung drives are.

Also, did you adjust the IP addresses of your PC and evox.ini so that they are on the same subnet?

PS, these questions about the dashboard should really be in the dashboard forum, as your Xenium is apparently working properly now...

Ok, sorry I may have overreacted, it was about 11:00 at night, and I just got finished fighting with radioshack, about why they would refuse to sell the stuff to me....

In the Xecuter sight, it said phillips read all Cd-RW and samsung reads almost everything including cd-r..

So, I chose finalize, disc at once(not disc-at-once/96) and burned it at 4x, I cannot go any slower.

It is still not working...ahh running out of money for getting this working...

I thought they said, when doing a slayer install, it could remove some files that you will need and if you don't already have a dash to ftp into your box, and copy those files you could have a great chance of screwing up your box....
