QUOTE (HSDEMONZ @ Feb 6 2004, 07:40 PM)

To DJLink...

Don't confuse me with tech/dev of Xenium. I'm no more an Xenium staff member than an Xecuter or Smartxx on.

As for the details of the release of the update.. compatibility is being tested now.

HSDEMONZ;

Sorry that I directed my frusted post at you it was not meant to be.  But after re-reading it sure sounds that way.  It just seemed to that you had the most information about the issue with the buggy OS,......I appologize.

Thank you for your contributions to the this forum.

Team OzXodus:

I bought your chip b/c I really was impressed with concept of your chip.  I love the fact that it has no dip switches and is easly flashable b/c I had nightmares with my xecutor 2.2 pro: dip switches, flashing, mine has a buggy socket for pinheader(lpc flash thing would fall off and pull my chip slightly and make it not work!

I am planning on using this chip for a brand new xbox I bought My Parents for a late x-mass present becuase once they say mine when I had them over for dinner they had to have one after watching the Multimedia cabalities of the xbox using xbmp and xbmc(especially with the autoplay fuunction for cheep CDr's with the samsung drive).  Your simple aproch(no external hardware) was perfect for them and would hard for them to mess up once I had all the software installed.  It was also the best design so my baby sister who is 4 could not hurt any outside hardware b/c there is none.  My parents also loved the idea of backing up all of my baby sisters DVD's two the HD so would not scratch the originals.

BUT PLEASE INFORM YOU CUSTOMERS OF THIS PROBLEM AND WHAT YOU ARE PLANNING TO DO TO FIX IT!  This info deserves to be posted on your website.  Customers will appreciate if you are forthcoming to any major problems like this and be loyal.  And also post any work arounds you know of right now.  Like mitty.oz's post:  Regarding the DVD remote dongle problem...... "I have mine plugged in with the original "fat" controller and it works beautifully." ..........A customer should not have to look in a thread like this for that info.

Someone from Team OzXodus Please tek the time respond. or post something on your website.

evoxreloaded, your missing the point.  If you name your dashboard xbe incorrectly all you need is an rw with the correct one.  I dont want a splash screen because of that.  I want to access the OS when I want to, not when the OS wants to.

yes but if the os was a xbe on the modchip or harddrive it would not work the way they wanted it to.

how would you use the os to fix a blank eeprom? the reason they based the os on  cromwell is its legal and works with a blank eeprom to allow you to recover.
infact i think the only way to turn the os totally off but still keep the recovery options is by hardware like a switch

xecuter made 4978.03 with a xbe inside to show what they can do but i dont think the x3 os will be a bios with a xbe inside like 4978.03 but more like a cromwell os to allow you to recover and so on and maybe a new x3 bios with a xbe inside to add fetures that can't be done with the os

i'll admit i haven't bought the chip yet, but plan on ordering it later today....that being said:

it does kinda annoy me that as far as i know, OzXodus has completely ignored to address the v 1.5 & extra wires issue....considering all the confusion on just this 1 website, why no PUBLIC explanation on their "official" website?...as i recall, their feature list for the Xenium claimed no extra wiring would be needed for 1.5 boxes

also, what the f* happened to the "Removable D0 Connector" ?!?!?!...another feature listed in their ads....if they had problems getting them from the mfg., they should just come out and SAY that, not just act like they never publicly made the claim it would be included w/ the chips

again, i still plan on buying the chip, (mainly cuz i'm tired of waiting for the X3), but it does seem like OzX's attitude is "we do this for the love of the scene..." so we should all just bend over & take it like they wanna give it to us....which would be fine if we were all just leeching & getting the chips for free, but the fact is they're marketing and SELLING a product for $$$$

EDIT: just ordered chip from xbox-wired.com

CrayzEE, I think you are bringing up a valid argument.  While I dont think it would work puting the OS on the drive due to recovery purposes, some kind of quick (100ms you suggested) boot mode would be nice to where it skipped the main OS unless certain key was depressed.  I agree as well as soon as the address this issue as well as the multiple controller (not all users are having this problem, me included but i know its there), no controller, dvd remote and various bugs people have found, that this could be the best chip out there.  Hopefully OzXodus is reading informed users posts such as yours and making adjustments to the next OS installment.

Peace!

<@fujitech> «*******» as i said before close yr eyes for 1 sec

If that isn'T help, i don't know what this is.... other then making fun of a customers desire, which would be a nice feature many people would use, they could just aswell hack the Xecuter Bios to show Xenium instead if they wanted their name to show up, if the OS boots already the Bios, it can modify it aswell.

I am deeply astonished by the way OZX / Xodus turned out now being teamed up.
I never saw such an unfinished product hit the market, never ever.
The worst thing of it all is, they _can_ fix it, but simply don't, or just won't release it.

I am now more convinced to not call it a next generation modchip anymore, but rather "worse then a cheapmod? hell yes". Sad sad sad.......

wink.gif its built brick by brick.  This is just my rambling of improvement but this my opinion so PLEASE
do not be offended OZXODUS.
I really am pleased about the Xenium and on a side note I like the boot up screen kinda like Windows.

I been told by one of the fellow people from Ozxodus the update would come
yesterday, and it wasn't comming out, as i expected, they keep on telling you
tomorrow if you ask, or that they do not know, hence this update will never see the
daylight in a near future.

This updates is now since 2 weeks comming "tomorrow" to those who asked and told me; this just does it, not only do they have missing documentation, their support channel being filled with a bunch of people with no proper knowledge,
but aswell they keep on lieing....

So many things do not work with their OS, and there isnt an update still....
The Documentation is horrific, and the 1.5 Diagrams are simply missing
The support channel is filled with uneducated people, i haven't seen a proper
reply/answer to the users problems.

I am disappointed by the lack of the release. It's overdue now.

I still actually have no need for it.. but I have been one of the ones telling people that it was about to be released. (for those that do need it.)

After seeing your post.. I bugged them and they are working feverishly to get it out and stable.

wink.gif

That dumb shit doesn't know what he has.  I've read alot about what's involved with other cheap mods, having to take you box apart and move dip switches to configure banks, installing fucking switches etc., WHAT A PAIN IN THE ASS!  All I gotta do with the Xenium is touch a button on the controller to boot with the orignial bios or my homebrew bios.  Now that's convience!  You can set the thing to default to the original OR homebrew bios.  What the fuck is that guy talking about?  It doesn't matter if you have the two controller problem if you got the chip set to the default bios of your choosing.  It'll boot to your choice without touching a button.  You can EVEN set the boot timeout from 0 to 30 seconds.  What more could you want?  This chip is nothing but convience laid in your lap!

As far as all this talk that OzXodus should have some kind of million dollar operational facility for help for stupid fucks, I think that's way out of line.  Look man, this is hack fucking central.  You're not gonna find these chips down at Circuit City or Comp USA.  It's assumed by OzXodus that anyone taking on the matter of modding out their Xbox has some kind semi intellegent understanding of the undertaking at hand and a general conceivement of the sphere from which this product and all the homebrew software that the chip will run on comes from.

I don't care what anyone says, you gotta be some kind of fricken looser not to appreciate the convience of this chip.  Xenium ROCKS!
