these pics from the demon are monterous....i cant stop laughing... and from the looks of it neither can anyone else.. are there any pics of a bad ps2 modchip install that would be funny all those wires everywhere.... or at least a 29 wire fuck up...

Actually.. I now have a new entry in the HALL of SHAME.. a 29 wire mod.. where we see the damage of the original mod attempt before it was fixed.

Click my large banner.. and go to the HALL of SHAME.

This is a first for me. DAmn this guy is really persistent to get his board fried eh? I installed pin headers 1st time and it's 10 times better that what we see in the pics. Damn he should get better hands or better skills man

It's not that (or not JUST that)

It seems to be a failure to follow instructions and to review what has been given to him.

In highschool.. we had a Geography Teacher.. MR KOROL.. who used to say "The greatest cause of Failure.. is the failure to follow instructions!"

I went to my Ten Year Anniversary/Alumni party a few years ago.  Met up with him.. and realized that all I could remember from taking Grade 9 and 12 Geo with him was that quote.  Seems to be the most valuable lesson he taught me.

Am I missing something? I really do not see anything wrong with the 29Wire mod removal other than the fact there is A LOT of left over flux on the motherboard. It's not a burnt motherboard, just brown from so much flux.. which won't hurt anything. I dont think the 29 wire mod deserves to be in the hall of shame, but the Xentium install defiantely does.

Actually.. he had to repair some of the via's.  It was a mess.  The original mod only woked intermittantly.

Also.. scorching like that.. is not necessary.  It shouldn't happen. That is contact from over-exposure to the hot iron.  Clealry someone who had not read any of the basic solder guides anywhere.

A properly heated iron and tip.. does the job nearly instantaneously.
