Xenium Chip
« on: January 28, 2004, 08:03:00 AM »

i was checking out these new Xenium chips and they seem pretty cool and all cause it looks like they work about the same way the old Chamelon does.

Anyways is this mod better then the Chamelon or should i just wait to upgrade later

Gimme some opinions

the one thing i didnt see is to program the Xenium chip through the LPC port or through the USB... is this possible with the new chipset

i think the xenium is by far the best and wouyld prove  anice upgrade from the chameleon.... you do still need to install a dash but thats really simple with this chip just burn a slayers disc and pop it in ..a few clicks and your new dashboard is automatically installed.....xenium rox

If you have a working chip - why upgrade?  Anyway the Xenium is nice, and if you already have your HD setup with a previous modchip you won't need to re-set it up again - just flash a bios onto the Xenium that has the same boot order as your current bios and off you go.

Well.. as one of the bigger fans of the New Xeniums.. and frankly.. of all of the new Gen4 chips.. I'd say that if your Chameleon is serving you well.. and everything is running as it should.. you really have NO reason to update.. period.

Now.. if your Chip unexpectedly takes a shit or something.. then by all means consider a new Gen4 chip like X3, Xenium.. etc.

I don't think anyone can go wrong with the new crop of chips from the big boys these days.

I always advise people to Upgrade on NEEDS.. not on what is necessarily cool or "in" at the moment.

If you don't need it.. don't.  Now.. if you've had issues flashing for some reason.. and have been screwed by a bad flash or something in the past.. then you might definitely want to jump on this.. or wait for Xecuter's offering.

Hmm.. I started this post trying to help.. smile.gif dunno if I did.
