No Lights On Xenium Install
« on: January 26, 2004, 09:19:00 PM »

I have a 1.2 or 1.3 xbox. Conexant chip, and grounded lpc-2, and lpc-12. However no 3.3v on lpc-9
pin header install
Do is connected to solder point on back of xenium.
I turn on the box and get no lights on xenium and boots to xbox blob.
If i jump the D0 to ground with another wire then i get a F.R.A.G. (that means that the D0 is soldered good, Does it mean that the Xenium isn't grounded?)

For LPC-9 there are no visible connections on the back of the motherboard and no visible connections on photos of the front (I have the header pin blocking it now). If there are no traces leading to LPC-9 then how can it get 3.3V?

LPC-6 does have 5.0 V.

Can anyone give some advice?

Three more general questions:
What position should the switch be in?
How do you turn on/off chip once box is closed?
Which d0 point should i use on xenium(there are two labeled d0 one front and one back)
p.s. this is a friends box, my specs are below (and irrelevant)

to answer some of your questions:

- doesn't matter which d0 you use on the chip (they are connected)
- you disable the chip via the xeniumOS (software controlled)
- Switch should be in the position that the actuall switch lines up with the little white patch below it on the xenium circuit board.  Don't worry if you boot up with it in the wrong position you'll get a splash screen telling you to change it.

suggestions:
- power the box up with the xenium off the pinheader and use a multimeter to verify that the correct pins are getting 3.3v and that pin 2 is grounded.   I don't remember if pin 9 is powered, but I know pins 8 and 10 are 3.3v.  With the xenium on the pinheader and the xbox powered on,  you can also check the quicksolder points on the xenium for power (they are connected the corresponding pins on the pinheader.

- you didn't install the pinheader upside down did you? (sorry, I've seen it done, where ppl put the long part throught the board)

- double check your solder job on the pinheader.

-as a last resort, do a quicksolder.  Its quite easy.
