My First Time: Need To Iron Out Some Details

QUOTE (EviL-Lab-Monkey @ Jan 25 2004, 05:46 PM)
I'll be picking up an Xenium from xbox-wired.com tomorrow.  This will be my first mod chip install of any kind.  I'll be doing it on a V1 xbox.  I'd really rather not solder, as it isn't my machine.  Originally I was planning on getting a Chameleon and solderless adapter but those don't seem to be available anymore.  Would it be possible to use a similar adapter with the Xenium?  What kind of hardware do I need in order to do a solderless install?

wait for the chameleon adapter to get in stock or wait for the xenium to arrive. you dont have much of a choice. id rather go for a solderless install myself, but shit happens.

Yes it will work with Chameleon's solderless adapter.
Check out HSDEMONZ pinned thread, 2nd page, there is pics
of it installed with the adapter.

Just as a note, Xenium is extremely easy to install if you use the quick solder method.  I had never soldered anything before and i did an install in less than an hour.  Just practice on a junk piece of circuitboard with a hole the same size as the dO on your box to get the hang of it.  Otherwise it's cake.  Just common sense.
