One reason to bother is to fix a box that has had a bad flash.

I would be very interested in knowing if the Xenium could do this!  Would save me from having to install 29-wire homebrew mods to fix boxes.

I see on various comparison pages that it is supposed to be possible.

Details please!!!

All I want to know is whether or not it is planned to release this feature.

If it is, my order will be in the pipeline!

So far though, this feature is vaporware.  Rumoured but not confirmed.

QUOTE (Jnadke @ Feb 20 2004, 05:32 AM)

However, there is no current way to load a custom bios into this EEPROM location for flashing.

Technically, you could put the Xenium in your box and back up your TSOP, and then put it in your brother's Xbox for recovery...  But then you'd both have the same XBOX Live ID... and I think he wouldn't be able to use his HD because it wouldn't have the proper code... you'd have to unlock it first.

So... the feature is partly there... they just have to implement the ability to load a custom bios to the flash rom.

You have the bios and eeprom image confused.  Bios goes on the tsop.  eeprom image w/ live serial # and HD lock password are on the eeprom, they are completely different.
