Well, as the other thread suggests, for the most part there is no reason to upgrade from another chip to the Xenium or any of the next gen mods unless you want some of the newer features.

If you do want to be able to easily disable the modchip for xbox live, and you don't want to solder an external switch onto your matrix, then you might want to consider upgrading.  Other than that, as long as you don't have a problem with misalignment on your Matrix then you don't 'need' to upgrade to anything else if you don't want to.

Well i already have switches on my matrix (no solder smile.gif ) thats for playing live. And i pretty much guarnteeded that my matrix wont move.

I guess ill wait untill all the features are released.

thanx guys

BTW how will the Xenium fit on the MOBO? I have a heat sink on the crappy Nvida chip that overheats, and i wonder if that would get in the way.

If you use the solderless adapter or the pin header, the Xenium will fit over the LPC holes very similar to the way that the Matrix does.  If you solder wires, you can place the chip wherever you want to.

And if the switches on the Matrix that your referring to are the ones built onto the chip, it's not exactly convenient to open the box up every time you want to play on live!  With the Xenium, it can be done via software.  (You can also solder an external switch the the Matrix, which is just as convenient as the Xenium but you would have a switch sticking out of the side of the box!)
