Well, first way to learn is to read, then ask.  There are many tutorials either on the main xbox-scene.com website, or if you search the forums.  Yes you can use a chip to boot up to a Linux BIOS, meaning your XBox is for all intents and purposes, a linux computer, cant play games.  If instead you boot up a hacked BIOS, it will allow you to play games, AND launch linux, either Gentoox or any other XBox distro.
