hi,

i bought an xbox for 50$ and it has a chip in it. when i turn chip on then start xbox i get directed to a blue screen with yellow writing reffering to team xecuter. so i can say it is from them. but i dont know wat version it is. i just really want to know becuz im trying to decide if i want to install a bigger HDD.

any help is great, thanks.

what version do i have if that really matters.. i just want to be able to swap to a bigger hard drive.

Modchip doesn't really matter, so long as the bios work. You might want to upgrade the bios just to be on the safe side, but you could just drop in a new hard drive and format it with AID or slayers.

well, i have the box softmoded rite now so i dont no if that affects this situation. i dont even no what bios(if any?) are on it now. or how to find out.

Since you've got the chip on there and it sounds like it's got a modded BIOS already you do not need to softmod at all. Joes2silly is right, if you want a new hard drive all you have to do is take out the old hard drive, put in a new one, and then insert a Slayers 2.7 or AID disc, restart the xbox so it boots to the disc and follow the instructions on setting it all up. If you use a hard drive that is bigger than 250GB's there are some other steps that need to be taken but you can tackle that when the time comes.

well i found a 60gb Maxtor hard drive which i hope is compatible? how do i know if i have a modded bios? i have never toughed the chip at all and just used the 007 hack to install the soft mods and evox dash(which i use xbmc shortcut now)

If you start your xbox up and the flubber is a different color, and the XBOX logo screen is different from stock, you've got a hacked bios on the xbox already. The 60GB is probably compatible, give it a shot and see what happens.

found out the chip, and upgraded bios, got hd in. fuck yes.
