Hello everyone. I installed the Evox dashboard with Slayer's auto installer 2.6. I then use the "Identify Bios" option. everything said unknown (I should've known since I couldn't get to the X3 config live menu). I'm guessing I dont't have a bios or I need one that is compatible with this modchip. I found an X3_3294 bios that is 1mb. I notice that my chip was on write protection. I pushed what looks like the write protection switch down, but nothing happens. What am I to do?

I turned off the flash protection but still nothing happens. I'm trying to flash the Evox M7 bios. is that good for xecuter 3? (the reason i want to flash is because i think it has something to do with my digital components not working). i turned bank 1 on but something strange happens. the xecuter chip flashes 3 times and then the light stays on but nothing shows up on the screen. i turned bank 2 on but just goes back to the evox dashboard. banks 3 and 4 goes to the flash bios 3.0.3 menu. i tried flashing the bios there but the same error message pops up.

No. Use X3.3294. The guide dpbmt linked you to tells you how to load flashbios by pressing start + eject at the same time, and how to flash X3.3294 to banks 1-4.

ok i got up to flashbios 3.0.1 menu. Now what? do i just use the x3_3294 bios to flash?

Yes. Make sure it's the right version for your Xbox - 1.6 Xboxes need a different version from 1.0-1.5 Xboxes.

i don't know exactly what version xbox i have but i know it's not a 1.4, 1.5, or 1.6 because of the coenaxt video encoder. i think my version is 1.0 because there is a fan next to the gpu heatsink (i heard that flash bios 3.0.1 was for version 1.6). anyways, i have an X3_3294 bios, is that good for the flashbios 3.0.1 menu? what switches need to be on from the modchip (there's 5 switches). can i flash that bios from the hard drive?

i read the manual and it said that flashbios 3.0.1 is used for 1.6. the problem is i keep going to that menu when i hold the power and eject button.

3.01 should work for both.

ok, i put the x3 3294 bios in the C:\bios folder, turned off the xbox and turned it bacl on with the switches in the right position and i was holding the eject and power button. i got to the flashbios 3.0.1 and looked for the bios. i selected the X3 3294 bios but it says the same thing "unknown flash. haulting!" do i need to do another method?

Check the flash protect switch on the chip. Sometimes they are incorrectly labelled - just try it in the other position.

i did off, off, off, on, on but still the same problem. do i have to lock my hard drive or something? do i have to rename the bios file?
