Xecuter3 Chip Installed, New Hard Drive Install
« on: September 28, 2006, 09:36:00 AM »

I have installed a Xecuter3 chip, everything is working great however I changed the hard drive to a 320GB drive.  So now I if I want to disable the chip I get an error 16 on the screen.  I have done a lot of reading and I just can't believe that there is not a utility out there to fix the HDD password to jive with the eeprom or vice versa.  Is there an easy way to make it so that the drive looks like a stock drive to the xbox with out going through 20 steps?

when you put new H/D in did you reinstall ms dash as well as h/dash
if not you need to put ms dash back on to your H/D if you do not have ms dash use auto installer deluxe 3 or slayer to reinstall it
error 5 lock hard drive useing x3 bios or flashbios

Thanks that worked, I guess I didn't install the dashboard but from Evox when I went to ms dash it came up so I thought it was there.  On a side not about hard drives.  Do you know how I can go about using my original Hard drive in another xbox with no hard drive.  I have read about this and it seems very complicated.  I know that the only problem is the eeprom and drive are not matched. Is there an easy way or do I have to go through all these steps to get the eeprom off and edit it?  Thanks again.

No it is not modded.  I have 1 modded box and wanted to put my original drive in a non modded box for resale.  If I mod the box then of course it will work right?  How do other people do it if the hard drive crashes.  Do they send it to MS if it crashes?  There has to be an easy way or at least easier than what I have read.  Thanks
