Quick Sp Adaptor With X2.6 Lite Question

Well im finally about to turn my xbox on with my x2 ce lite on a xenium spice adaptor, but 1 quick question.
What is this red wire for?? Do I need it or is it for something else. EDIT and if I do, how would I go about doing so. Thanks.
