My mate gave me his 1.6 xbox to see if I could fix the problem he was having.
I unsoldered his LPC rebuild, and re-soldered it correctly, (had a wire looping from one LPC leg to another).
Fired up the xbox, and I get 2 blue LED's on the X3 and one green one.
"Great" I think. I set the clock and turn off the xbox, ready to flash the chip.
I use the xecuter replacement faceplate, select buttons 1 and 2, and make sure the protect switch is disabled. I tap the power button, and the xecuter logo stays red.
I turn off the xbox again, and tap the eject button. This causes the xbox to try and boot 3 times, on the 3rd, it frags.
Anyone know whats wrong?
Before I unsoldered the xbox, I plugged in his large HDD, and it gave me error 05. This is a fresh HDD, so I wasn't expecting it to do anything. After re-soldering. It gives me error 16. (Dashboard) so the chip must be doing something!
