Solderless 1.6/1.6b Install Tutorial - Xodus S.p.
« on: February 20, 2005, 12:14:00 PM »

smile.gif Yeah... my host ACTUALLY works.

After lots of hard work, a stupid error, and a alot of learning, this tutorial has been compiled. If any of you have pre-ordered one of these nifty Universal Solderless adapters from www.modwhiz.com, then you'll really appreciate this. To my knowledge it's the only one out. I'm really stoked about a 4th-gen Universal Solderless adapter, it is compatible with all pinheader based mods, and of course all known Xbox-versions.

Enjoy the tutorial!!!

Not yet.... I just compiled the research off of spiderchip.com (which they stole the idea from) and this site. I got the movie off of www.teamxodus.com.

Yes... and you will have to take the motherboard out of the case so as to solder the two points on the bottom, as shown in the tutorial for the X3.

Instead of covering the D0 you could also clip it off up by the connector for a cleaner install.

That's not the Xodus S.P. That is the generic solderless adaptor. The Xodus S.P. can be found here:

http://www.modwhiz.c...&cat=248&page=1

If you have an Xbox v1.6 I recommend getting the Xodus S.P. it will save you the hassle of soldering and possibly killing your xbox. That is the adaptor that the tutorial is written for.

If you decide not to get the Xodus S.P. you will have to do an LPC rebuild (if xbox v1.6), and I wouldn't recommend using the solderless adaptor. Instead use the supplied pin header. You can find a tutorial here:

http://www.teamxodus...op=getit&lid=36

For versions 1.0-1.5 use this here:

http://www.teamxodus...op=getit&lid=33

Most of this info is from www.teamxodus.com check it out and take a look around.

Good Luck!!!

P.S. The tutorial link is

http://rcc123.no-ip.info/xodussp

...And you can use the silicone to hold the wires in once you have a good connection.
