timboo... FlashX is a seperate app.. the bluescreen is flashbios try running flashX and flashing with that. if you must flash from bluescreen make sure your bios is named bios.bin

b8827... have you tried the m8plus_v1.6 bios yet? it might help

I know that you want to update these instructions to make them 100% compatible with all xbox versions. I tested these instructions with xbox version 1.4 & Nero version 6.6.0.3, and I have one little suggestion. I needed to use these settings on Nero's ISO tab:
Data mode:   Mode 1
File system:   ISO9660
File name length:   Max of 11
Character set:   ISO9660
You might consider adding that info to the section on burning the cd with Nero. With a couple improvements like this, this thread would have a better chance of getting pinned. Is there any action happening on posting them as a tutorial?

Troubles With 1.6 Box And 2.6lite Chip?

also this hard drive was once used in a 1.1 xbox with a 2.3b pro modchip. it was formatted so all of the extra space went to the F drive. i formatted the hard drive with evox. idk if that helps any. also when i edit the m8 bios file so "Partion 6 takes rest of drive" it does not list any of my applications or games in the f:, and it shows the f drive as being only 8 gigs big or so, it should be like 190 gb. when i put the option on "use standard partion table" it says "err:3" in avalaunch and it says that there is no space available. opening this hard drive up on my computer has proven that there are in fact games and folders in the f:, and i have seen all of my applications as well

help anyone?

blink.gif

you need to make the file 1mb.. flashbios on 1, m8 on 2. so that would mean 512 of each.. the reason we're using flashbios is because once you reflash with the 1mb file, it will replace the bios file that's on there know.

and mlapaglia... did you make sure to enable the bios for 137gb+ harddrives with ebtool before you burned it to disc?

reread the first post and follow the directions given... asking questions that have already been answered is frustrating... especially in the SAME THREAD

you should be using m8plus_v1.6 ... not regular m8plus.

now let's see if you can fix the no video problem a lot of poeple are having after flashing / reflashing.

flashbios 3.01 on bank 1, m8_16+ on bank 2

wouldn't know about the no video problem, as everytime i've done a 1.6/1.6b i've used the same exact method as given and i've never encountered the problem.

??

possibly a corrupted bios, bad d/l perhaps? when in doubt, start from scratch.

EDIT:
although... perhaps it's when people are using the wrong bios for their box? like using m8plus_16 for a 1.6 and m8_16 for a 1.6b...

1.6b + m8plus_16 = perfect
1.6b + m8_16 = bad
1.6 + m8plus_16 = buggy
1.6 + m8_16 = perfect

that's the only possible reason i can see as to what's happening, that or a bad d/l.. either or

you want it all flashbios? ok.. then flash it with a 1mb file of nothing but flashbios. not sure why you'd want to do that though...
