Xbox Fragging With Chip Off, And Reboot Problem.

I just realized that when I try to boot with my chip disabled, it FRAGs. It has booted fine in the past, and I just put in a large HDD and used Slayer's to install everything. Everything works fine with the chip enabled.

Also, when I choose "Reboot Xbox" OR BIOScheck in the Slayer's menu, my xbox reboots to the Cromwell BIOS instead of my X2 BIOS. When I power off and power on with the button, X2 BIOS boots normally.

Could the two problems be related? What would be the problem with an Xbox that frags only when the chip is disabled??

i have a 2.6chip on a v1.0 box. i thought i was using the 4981.06  BIOS, but apparently i'm not.
