Lcd For X3
« on: July 07, 2004, 10:57:00 AM »

Can anyone tell me what LCD will be used for the X3? I, like manyothers, need to know the type etc and the dimensions to prepare my case cutout.

Thanks

no preparing at all is needed, there will be a custom case for the lcd screen that will attach to your xbox so you don't have to hack it up

think about it, it's a custom connector that plugs directly into the x3 chip, it's a certain size and programs will take advantage of it as such, not to mention all screens wont work the same way

My post is somewhat unclear. The image I have seen on the X3 site shows the chip with, what looks like a green backlit LCD and it appeared to be hardwired. I want to use the blue type from Crystal (USA) etc. My comment "any LCD" is clearly misleading, so I will rephrase and ask this.

"Can I use any of the standard LCD that appear frequently on this forum?"

If anyone has a link to a standard spec from X3 of the LCD it will drive, please post else I shall have to buy a SmartXX and the screen for it. That sound rather crap but I am in a position where I cannot progress on my case with the LCD. Once I have built the case I do not want to strip it for fit an LCD.

Thanks

i have already told you, the x3 lcd will have it's own custom built case that attaches to your xbox meaning you DO NOT have to cut up the case at all

I do not want an 'add on' I want the LCD on its own built into the case. The LCD for the SmartXX could be compatible with the X3, but I need someone in the know to confirm.
