Prob With X2 Lite +

when the hdd and the dvd tray are disconnected the cromwell screen comes up fine. but when i put connect them with the mod enabled, it turns on and off three times, and beeps each time. then it just goes to the flashing green and red light around the eject button. please help. When mod dissabled everything is fine and i get the MS dash. What could it be?
