Try to use Win2000, i might save you some hair pulling....

so windows ME might work? or should i get windows 2000. Also one other quick question. does the chip have to be connect to the on/off switch and does the chip need to be enabled or disabled? i have it on enabled/unprotect/bank 1 right now

well i have another PC that i am installing ME onto so i dont have to put it on this PC. I really dislike ME, i had it on my old PC and all i had was problems with it. i really hope this works.

It's EXACTLY the same problem as I had, and ME worked a treat for me.


Trust me friend, i mod 1 xbox per week on avarage.

2 to 3 people a week call me to fix their xbox because they reflashed it and it went bad.

The programmer is very funny at times. It works with some motherboards and it doesnt work with some.

It works with some Xp installations and some dont.

So your WinME might have worked but his didnt.

I have had it work on some Xp installs and sometimes not.

So i dont think should tell people things like "YOU DOUBT IT'LL WORK".

Right now i think hes running out of options, so it wont hurt to try Win2000.

Like i said, it has never failed me yet.

Then i could be your motherboard. I have read that the programmer doesn't work

well on motherboards that are not Intel. Try a different PC.

Sorry, ijust saw that you said you tried 3 different Pc's. I dont know, it could still

be the Intel thing or the programmer might be defective. If i think of anything

else, ill let you know.

I have a 2.3b lite plus, V1.1 and WinXP. I have the programmer and all I got was the Syc FFFFFF error too. Inside the package for the programmer was a little cable to plug into the chip and programmer so I thought. I couldn't do anything with that little wire plugged in. I couldn't even get the lights on the chip to light up.  I ended up just putting chip on the programmer pins and turning the programmer on. That worked great for me. I still don't know what that little cable is for. Anyone know? On top of that I got two of those little cables........
