2.3b Pro Problems
« on: March 14, 2004, 12:51:00 PM »

My XBOX will boot fine with the mod switched off, but when I try to boot with it on... it flashes 3 times and then FRAGs.

My screw hole where the ground connection is screwed in is stripped as hell, I don't think it is tight at all... would this cause it to FRAG. I ordered a new case from llama, and it is on its way, just wnat to make sure it is not my chip...

Before you go spending your money on a new case did you try to hold down the ground with you have or tape it or something.  And what chip do you have need more info them 2.3.  Might also be a bad flash.  Do you get cromwell on a different bank.

not a bad flash, been running the same bios combo for about a month now... haven't flashed since then... The only thing I can think of that MAYBE has something to do is I accidentally pulled the yellow wire out of the LPC, but I re-soldered it and it worked fine... but since I removed my motherboard, and tried to put it back in the case it wouldn't work... Right now the motherboard is out of the case (have it lying on a piece of foam... and it still gives me 3 boots then FRAG... I tried taping down the ground still did the same thing....

Do what you want but I would look into the problem more before you spend your money.

They are all clean, and the yellow wire is not secure, or so I think, but it still frags... Is there anyway to test and make sure the yellow wire has a good connection, it has become a little tight because i had to strip it when I resoldered it...

I have resoldered it numerous times, and I am tired of screwing with it, you know when you get frustrated and you just want to break something... I guess I will just wait until tomorrow to tackle it again...

could i take another piece of wire and connect it to the yellow wire and put that in the LPC, because with me stripping it and resoldering it, it has become quite short... and I need some more slack

Yes you can add another length of wire to the existing wire.

doesn't matter if the wire is not the same size, as long as it is electrical wire, correct?
