Dvd+r Problem
« on: October 20, 2003, 03:18:00 PM »

I traded my samsung for a Thompson so I could read dvd+r's. I put a dvd+r in the drive and XBMP and YAMP will only read half the dvd+r, literally 3.5 files out 7 work on each dvd+r I tried. I tried 3 types of Media and for some reason still the same problem...

I have tried 9 cd's only half the files work on each dvd+r also its alway the last 3.5 files displayed in XBMP 2.4. Any help would be extremely appreciated.

Best Regards, Justin

:o YOU DID WHAT?!?!?!?! :o

Whoever gave you the idea that the Thomson was more likely to read DVD+r was having you on! Big style! It's no wonder your Thomson drive won't read the disks properly, that's because it's useless. The sammy was more likely to ever read DVD+r than your 'new' drive is.

Sorry bud, but you've been had.

Its a known problem that samsung drives just plain have a hard time reading dvd+r's... Mine did not even recognize dvd+r's.

that's not the point.  you should have gotten 4 thompsons for one samsung.  or better yet a thompson and $50 or more.

Indeed. Your only hopes now are:
A ) Get your Samsung back!  How you do this is up to you.
B ) Buy a new Samsung ;_;
C ) Try the pot tweak mod in the tutorials. I did the Philips one on my drive and can read all CD media, it seems, but haven't been able to test DVD media.
