Why Go With The Pro?
« on: March 06, 2004, 08:08:00 PM »

I notice there have been a few post saying I get a frag but chip is in and all lights are on.  I flashed with Cromwell but the bios were bad.  I didnt get bios (Cromwell) on my chip.  I cant get Cromwell to flash my chip.  And so on and so forth.  Well for anyone who is going to be getting a chip soon think about this first.  You will notice this all happens on the Lite and Lite +.  That is because with the pro it comes with the LPT.  Now I have done a few X-Box's.  My first one was with the 2.2 Pro and man I am glad I got the pro.  I got the ship poped it in and turnd it on.  Well to my suprise there were no bios on it (Cromwell).  O I was so glad to look over and see the LPT programmer sitting there ready to be used.  It was well worth that extra $10 to get that pro rather then having to spend $20 on the lite/+ programmer and having to wait.  Yes that LPT programmer that came wiht the pro hasnt been used scence then but I was glad to have it.

This is a statement for anyone who is planning to get a chip soon.  And when I say "Comes with bios" I mean Cromwell.  That is why I saide "Bios (Cromwell)"

That's not true. I just got an X2.3b Pro installed and it *did* come with the Cromwell BIOS.

Then I suspect the dealer who sold you it flashed it or they come now indeed with Cromwell. I know they never used too though.

Palyer1 the Pro's come with bios.  I have modded over 50 box's just with pro.  That I have got from a list of dealers on team xecuters site.  Now 10 or so of there were empty but after talking to the company they said that it was there mistake and the chip should have Cromwell on it.  I did 3 pros in the last week and all had cromwell.

My xecuter 2.3b pro came with cromwell too. I got the programmer just in case. I know I know the pro has the LPT, but I could never get that to work for a friend of mine so I got the programmer.

Pre-Flashed Bios X2.0P old: no
X2.0P new and X2.1P: cromwell 1.8
X2.2P: Cromwell Flashbios 1.8
X2.3bP: Cromwell Flashbios 2.27

If I recall, I've installed a few X2.3b's with Cromwell FlashBIOS 2.28 preflashed.

All chips come with bios.  You probably didnt install it right or broke the D0 trace.
