i'm also having this problem...I must get back to Cromwells, but howwww?!

Install went fine. flashed in cromwells with x2 4973 1.0 err noani red. I didn't realize that on my dvd for the bios it said 1.0, and I believe that's what the problem is because it's a 1.1. I need to reflash but how the hell can i go about doing that?

Any ideas?

Try the switches in different positions (flash protection does make a difference in some cases).  It's definately a problem with the chip if it doesn't boot up from LPC.  The frag means your D0 is good, it's either an LPC problem or (possible) bad chip!?

I havent had the chance to flash the bios yet.  Its a new chip and it should load up to the default cromwell bios.  And i have also tried the switches in different positions, but its still the same thing.

check and redo all solder points as necessary .

In 99% of the cases this is due to a bad solder point .

dont think X2 4973 is compatible with v1.4 boxes.....you'll need to reflash your mod....

both banks are fragging - this happened with my friend yesterday - he wrongly flashed the banks - it is likely that it was a BAD FLASH - if you want to reflash your chip you'll either need a programmer or hot-swap your chip.

I havent had the chance to flash the banks.  After the installation, I turned the xbox on........and then it started to turn on and off twice and then started to FRAG.  I didnt even get a chance to see the cromwell screen.

I have resoldered the LPC points a few times already and i have also checked the points with a multimeter.  Would the xbox frag if there is no bios on there?  I am thinking that there was no flash bios on there to begin with.

Do a wire install and that way youll know (assuming your soldering is good) for sure if the chip has no bios at all.

I went ahead and tried the wire install and I am still getting the same results.  I just went and ordered an external programmer.  Hopefully that will solve the problem.
