I've just installed the x23lite chip in my box. I've also installed Evox using
Slayers Evox 2.5 Installer disc.

First of all, games worked fine, homebrew/origs, DVD drive or HDD Drive.

Every now and again, when I start up games (homebrew or origs, DVD or HDD)
they get stuck on the first splash screen and are forever locked !!!

Anyway, I can get it to work again if I do the following :-

1) disable the x2.3lite, then power up the system, into m$ startup sequence
2) power-down
3) re-enable mod-chip
4) power-up,
5) all games work, ie. get past the first splash screen


It tends to fail again, after the system has been powered down for a while

Questions :

1. Could this be a BIOS thing, I doubt it myself, coz we're way past the
  BIOS control at this point ?
 
2. Would the situation be better if I took Slayer's evox install off ?

3. Hardware Problem ?? : It's wierd that both HDD and DVD games screw up, so
  I don't reckon it's a drive issue - could this be a dodgy chip install
  issue  or another hardware problem ?
 
 
Any hints or tips would be cool, coz it's driving me mental ..........

Try checking to make sure your clock is set.  whenever I get that issue it is usually b/c the clock gets reset.
