You just take about 100mb of crap, I usually use video files cause they are big, and use either winrar or winzip to compress them. Then you add this to the xiso or in this case the bios cd which is not an xiso. Dummy files are not always needed, they help your dvd-rom read what's on the disc cause like with the bios cd sometimes there is very little on the disc. It's just to fluff it so there is more.

oh and what difference would it make if im using a Memorex CDRW to have a dummy file on it?? would i be fine without one?

It may or may not work. If it doesn't try a dummy file.

Well i guess i have some good news and some badnews. It flashed them and i figured out why it wouldnt flash them the whole time "i was renaming the file on windows but when it came up on nero it had a slightly different name so i reanmed it there and the chip read them but after the progress bar was through i restarted it and i guess it was bad bios becasue it was fragging. The good news is i still have bank 2. Ill look for some more bios. and make sure they are 512kb

would it make any difference if i am using a Samsung drive??? because i heard it could read CDRWs better than the tompson.

Like I said before, it may or may not. In my experience the samsungs rarely need a dummy file and also read cd-r's, but if it doesn't work and you are sure you are doing everything right it may be your solution.

oh and another quick n00b question: i got the M7 file from xbins and its called EvoxM7_ef and it is a BIN file. what do i rename it to exactly?

2.3 lite plus, i used 4979.06's...they should work, but what do i need to do next

well if you flashed them and the box is flashing red and green then that isnt good. those bios are 256kb arnt they?

no no it shut off after about 10 seconds after i put the bios CD in, i read thats good..
