Alligning The Excuter Lite + Mod Chip
« on: August 15, 2003, 02:35:00 PM »

Mine is doing that too. Took me 1 minute to get it there and i though hey it should stay green. After some time i just booted the box and hey it worked. (Cromwell bios)
Flashed it, installed new HD, everything works great.

Just try it. It looks like the green light wont stay on on some chips???

it's got cromwell pre-flashed, so yeah, you've gotta flash to a useable bios (like 4977)

the most annoying part is tracking down the bios itself...

past that, you'll need x2bm to make the bios
grab something over 50mb as a dummy file (renamed aaa.zip)
make an iso of the 2 files with something like nero.
burn at 4x or 2x

and then you'll be set.

that's a programmer.

if you screw up the flash, or the chip isnt flashed, or if you want to reflash.

if you've already got cromwell, and the flash goes well, then it's not a problem

though it's always good to have in case something goes wrong

yeah, but if you've got the disc burned with the bios, and it works (which it should), then you wouldnt need the flasher. unless you messed up somehow...

i've got a programmer, but havent had to use it yet

Hey to all of you with the lite + or thinking about getting one: DON'T GET IT. It is probably more easy to install a modchip that you have to solder. I just spent about 7 hours trying to install my mod chip and finally got it in. The green light problem was driving me insane. Finally I said forget the green light and left the mod chip on enabled and it worked. My green light does not stay on and I just installed EvoX just fine. So don't get too frustrated if you can not install your mod chip or if you get the green light problem.

If you know what you are doing this is a GREAT chip.  The green light is only supposed to stay on for about 3 seconds.  It just lets you know that d0 is aligned.  It also does not come on if the switch is set to "enabled."  Search the forums for "the easiest X2.2 lite plus guide ever created" for more details.

do not buy the solderless chip. just go for the actual chip that you have to solder on. it works everytime and you dont need to worry about the bad alignment crap. Just get the xecuter 2.2 lite or pro. both are easy to install.
