New 4975 Bios Works!
« Reply #30 on: March 26, 2003, 08:57:00 AM »

So is anyone triple sure that this new bios will 100% fully run the games with the new "moved" media flag?

I.E.
MVP baseball 2003
Indiana Jones

I just want to be sure, i don't want to screw with my bios if it isn't really needed.

Please be gentle, this is my first post.

(and yes i know poeple already said it would, but like i said, triple sure)

Thanks guys

Jason

I will answer part of this for myself
My XBOX was setup using Slayers tools so I do not have the Flash BIOS option in system utils on EvoX.
Flashed to X2 4975 using the suggested method (using OzXFlash) on the X-Killer website http://www.x-killer.com, all working fine now on the new BIOS.
I would still like to know what can be done if it had not flashed correctly for this modchip.

So ur saying that if you use Slayer's Auto Installer it won't have the Flash Bios function under System Utilities in EvoX. If this is true how do i go about adding it to the System Utils Menu after i've used the Auto Installer. I still don't have my Matrix chip yet friggin thing is taking to friggin long...haha...but o well, there's nothing i can do about it. I can't wait til i get the chip. I have everything ready. Just need the chip to get me started.  beerchug.gif

Don't know how to add it sorry, but just read the news that I could have toasted my modchip if I had used the EvoX flasher. Glad I didn't have it available to me.
You might be able to use OzXFlash CD to flash the matrix as well?? I don't know.

ok I know what youre asking and to add my 2 cents I flashed my bios  through evox with 4976 and although i havent tested any new unpatched games it does seem to work fine. Only thing is on evox screen it says UNKNOWN for bios type but i guess you can fix that by just adding some line to the evo.ini file..just dont know if line is same as people been posting for version 4975(hint hint can someone tell me please). Anyway im still kinda new to all this in last month  but i flashed it easy with some directions of a friend. My main concern was i thought it might delete all my files ive backed up from what ive read..must have misunderstood though. Anyway i wanted to be "triple sure" also and i was and everything works fine. Also um those two games you listed work fine without any patch whatsoever. Im running indiana jones and ive heard mvp works without also. Theres a list in one of these threads for exact games...
Anyway just trying to give you a heads up man..i know how it can be around here when you dont know EVERYTHING lol

Just add these to lines into your evox.ini to detect both versions.

Disclaimer: Before reading further, you should know that I own an Enigmah, so I have my head up my ass when it comes to new mod chips.

My guess is that the BIOS bypasses the media check from both DVD-R and HDD.  As far as I know, when running the application, the source media would not factor into the BIOS' functionality.

Why is that xero? you  have such a dinosaur mod chip. i too was a enigmah owner. then i did a on board TSOP and have multi switchs. so i can go on live and have 4974 installed. all of the best world.

Because my Enigmahs work fine for now.  I have a DVR-104, so I don't need a large hard drive.  And patching games takes all of 60 seconds.

Bypassing the media check is simple, and the BIOS does bypass it.  However, neither of those two games even have the media check, so the BIOS will not remedy any problems you're having with them.  If you have IGR enabled in EvoX, that would cause a problem.
