If you are going to use a solderless mod chip your best bet is just disable the enigma. Pins 15 and 21 are the one needed to be dissconnected. That way, incase something ever goes wrong with you new chips you still have the old one.

All the Engimahs connections are on the bottom of the PCB it should not hinder the install of the new chips.

yeah the LPC bus over rides anything on the onboard bios including the onbaord bios

Sonic-iso are you sure about that?

The Enigmah is not a bios replacement it is a modifier. The enigmah may still be injecting the code in the bus. It really needs to be disabled.

There were a few posts a while back were people had trouble using a LPC mod while the Enigmah was still active. I have not tried this with the Enigmah installed. But if you have difficulty you can always disable the Enigmah

Shouldn't be a problem but i'd still cut the two wires to be on the safe side. You could always add switches so that it could be re-enabled anytime you want (if you have a problem with matrix or x-2)

It will be a problem. You really need to dissable the enigmah. I did some more research on this. Blackout_19 did you check out the link I posted. The switches are still a good idea. You never know when you may need them.

If you look at the mod chip guide the Enigmax is a little low on the funtionality scale. It was one of the first chips to hit the scene. The newer bioses allow you to install larger HD's and use special modded bios like 'ybox' or 'evox' versions.

I'm not a big fan of the Matrix chip but it does offer flash upgradablity.
This allows you to use any bios you wish as long as they are in the 256k range.

And besides the alignment problems I have heard about the chip should be fairly easy to install.
