I am in the same position as hurricane. I cannot find the .ini file. It is located nowhere on the F: drive. Is there something wrong with where my bios is located? Im not sure what to try from here.. I dont want to mess anything up cuase we are so close!

Gxnoob - You can create the INI file by copying the text that HackDaBox had posted on page 2 of this thread. Paste the text in a text file and save the file as x2config.ini

FTP the x2config.ini you just saved to the root of the F drive on your xbox.

You also have to change the option(s) that HackDaBox mentioned on page 2 of this thread.

Hope it works for you.

Hello everyone ,

 I must say this is the xbox community at it's best ... everyone is helping everyone for the best outcome for all !

 beerchug.gif

 Now i should of mentioned the posted x2config.ini is only for the X2 5035 bios. If you flashed your bank 3 with a earlier version then please re-flash with X2 5035 as it's the latest version.

 Also when you flash your bios with the X2 5035 bios it does not create the x2config.ini file for you !  You have to ftp this file over yourself !

 You can now download the edited version of x2config.ini ( with all the 1's changed to 0's ) from

http://HackDaBox.com/x2config.ini or

http://hackdabox.ete...et/x2config.ini

I hope spider comes up with an update in the near future, because the inability to restart in the middle of a game not only leads to locking up that time, but in my case often takes about 2 or 3 restarts to get all the apps to work again from the dashboard.

although this is the wrong forum technically, i think its fitting to place it here because of the bios and set up we are using.  Is there a way to get this to acknowledge the g drive?  It's turned on in the settings, but remains to show "0" as its size.  There is an extra 100 gigs out there I eventually wanna get ahold of.  All the different tutorials on here seem to show using different versions of bios and dashboards and say it could corrupt things if not that version.

but hey, im still looking on the good side here.  You guys were lifesavers and came up with this, and I thank you like no other.

Thank you everyone for all of the help, i dont know what I would be doing with my chip right now without this forum. Thanks!

No problems !

I think the default settings will make one large F: drive but you change it to F: and G: if you like ... the easiest way is to use the X2 configuration utility , Download it from here ...

http://dwl.xbox-scen...X2ool_1.0.4.rar

Once you have tweaked the LBA 48 settings to your fancy you will have to format your new G: drive

Just boot Slayer's Auto Installer V2.6 or Auto Installer Deluxe V2.11 Final and format your G: drive. Then reboot xbox and make sure G: drive is enabled in all dashboards you use !

CODE

lba48 partition modes:

0 = standard partitions
1 = F: gets all (Default)
2 = F: up to 137gb, G: gets rest
3 = F: up to 137gb, no G:

You have to patch 0,1,2 or 3 value at offset 0x1b04 (if you wanna hex dit manually)

However there are tools for lba48 patching and ini file creation - they can be found here:

http://home.alltel.net/nghtshd/x2ool.html
http://x-projects.xbox-scene.com/

Well i was right  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) Unless you edit the bios you will just have one big F: drive and no G: drive. You may need to just re-format your hard drive again to sort out the size issue !

Hiya people

Fitted my 1.6a box with a SpiderGX without any problems what so ever, thanks to your guide Hackdabox. Flashed the chip with x2_5035_v16plus_512k on bank 3. Installed slayers. FTPed the x2config.ini from this post to E:, still I have the hang on load problem.

Only difference I can see from the other posters here is that Im using the original HD. Wanted to get everything up and running before buying and installing a new one, but as of now only backups work. Any one here have any sugestions? I know the x2config is placed where it should be on the HD because I can remove or add the "blob" animation by editing the file.

Will installing a new HD and FTPing the file to F: solve the problem? Any suggestions welcome, Im dying to play Ice Climber    (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

I have a V1.6 box that I have the SpiderGX installed in.  I have been able to install and run Evox with the M8+ bios and the X2 5035.  Once I got everything installed I could not launch apps so copied the X2config.ini into my E:\ drive and I can now launch apps.  I have made .iso of games but when I try to play them it loads the beginning screen of the copied game then goes to a black screen that says "There's a problem with the disc you're using.  It may be dirty or damaged."  Does anybody have any idea what the problem is or has anybody got their SpiderGX to play burned games?

I think you just have a bad burn. It sounds like you are able to boot to the disk just fine the xbox just can't read all the data on the disk. Try another disk.

What I don't get is how some people with 1.6 can use the m8 BIOS while some of us can ONLY use the X2 BIOS.

HachDaBox, I took the edited X2config.ini file you posted and placed it on my Xbox on my F: drive. My Xbox responded differently to this file than the other x2config.ini files I have tried. With yours my xbox gives me an ERROR 13 code. But this ERROR 13 code is a distorted version of the one you normally see with a FUBARed Xbox. Any clues?

Your the second person to say that ? OK please email me the x2config.ini that did work for you to [email protected] Are you using X2 5035 or X2 5032 ??? I know you must use the right config files that came with each release !

I want to see whats the difference in yours and mine !
