Xbox Error codes !

Error 05 means the hard drive is unlocked and the MS bios will only boot with a locked hard drive so this is not a Spider GX problem oddly enough !

Yeah the Spiders OS ( operating System ) is not smart enough to know you have a V1.6 but this makes no difference !

choklit does your evox m8 plus 16 on bank 1 actually boot ? you see there are 2 problems everyone is having ...

Evox M8 Plus 16 boots and plays games but wont launch apps ( possibly the pogo pin is not making a good contact with pin 1 on the lpc )

Evox M8 Plus 16 boots to a black screen and won't start the dashboard at all ( possibly the Spider GX has bad cpld code and needs an update )

I have both had it load and not load.  Can't remember what set up I had when i got the m8 to load.  When it actually did load, the apps remained red and unhighlightable.

I'll test and see what set up I had to get it to load.

This is a different problem and not Spider GX related !

If a item is RED and you can't select it that means it is not installed on your xbox or the path is incorrect ! this is not a Spider GX problem !

Please use a Auto Installer like Slayer's Auto Installer V2.6 and re-test !

Xbox version: 1.6a
Bios: X2 5035
os/dashboard: xbmc

same problem here xbmc started up, i could start everything except apps and games. this morning i found out that the bios uses x2config.ini thats located on F drive, i opened it and changed all the 1's to 0's. now everything works like a charm.

Have you guys tried changing the x2config.ini file ?

else maby you should..

Two bits that might be useful:

1. If using the EvoX M8+ BIOS, I can only boot the EvoX dashboard more than once. If I try to use any other dashboard (UnleashX, Avalaunch etc.) it works the first time, and then locks up on a reboot or any subsequent boot. It will still boot to a CD with a dash on that, so maybe that's worth a try - boot to CD, replace dash with EvoX via FTP, remove CD and reboot. It works for me!

2. I have found today that it's not all apps that refuse to play! Using X2.5035, I can boot any dash. XBMC will not run as application, neither will 2 demos I downloaded (Irrlicht Q3demo and a fractal generator). I know XBMC and the Q3demo are not bad files, because I can boot them using Evox/EvoX and the reboot method. But today I downloaded some emulators, and I have yet to find one (I have tried 6 or 7) that will not run as application when using XBMC as dash. So if you can run your dashboard OK, but not applications, maybe try some emulators? Something like neogenesis, xboyadvance or xsnes9x.

Maybe someone can make sense of all this?

With slayer used (forgot to do it after I was trying to get the x2 bios to work), app's will work the first time after installation, but then after that the box needs rebooted from the slayer menu or the slayer disc is in when the evox dash starts up.

*edit*

Even when doing this, games cannot be played from the HD, they lock up immediately.  They ripped fine, but will start and freeze.

Interesting. I do not see an x2config.ini file on my F: nor is it anywhere on my xbox. I will try to find one and try it though.

hurricane : hmm.. strange, mine is located in the root of F:\

Are you sure that you are using x2 5035 as bios ?
If you can't find it at all, try put it there and see if anything changes.

This is some great news ... Thanks Janne !

OK everyone the X2 5035 bios looks for a file called x2config.ini which holds settings for the bios. You can just cut and paste this default untouched x2config.ini into notepad and save it as x2config.ini

CODE

; startup xbox debug monitor (needs sdk installed)
startDebug = 0

; enable igr
igrEnabled = 1

; display flubber anim
doStartupAnimation = 1

; do dvd drive check
doDvdDriveCheck =  0

; do not reset when pressing on eject
noResetOnEject = 1

; 255 characters max here, format is :.xbe, e.g. "f:dashes\avalaunch.xbe"
dash1Name = c:avalaunch.xbe
dash2Name = c:evoxdash.xbe
dash3Name = c:unleashx.xbe
dash4Name = c:xbmc.xbe
dash5Name = c:xboxdash.xbe

; the xbe name of the title image loaded from dvd on startup, 16 chars max!
dvdBootXbeName = default.xbe

; logo colors
colorXlip = ff000100
colorXlipHighlights = ff4b9b4b
colorInnerWalls = ff216a17
colorInnerGlow = ffcbdf01
colorXboxText = ff62ca13

; patch away xbox live connectivity code
patchXboxLive = 1

; if 1 then system runs on error if clock is invalid
clockErrorCheck = 0

; flubber (blob) colors
colorBlob = ff26ff3f
colorBlobGlow = 00a0ff40
colorGreenFog = 00a0ff60
colorFogGlowStart = ff00ff00
colorFogGlowEnd = 009fff66

; 3 scene colors

; ambient
colorFlubberScene1 = ff35ff19
; diffuse
colorFlubberScene2 = ff35ff19
; specular
colorFlubberScene3 = ff35ff19

; do random flubber
randomFlubber = 0

; flubber animation number, 0 - 14
flubberAnimationNumber = 2

; speed of xbox fan, value 10 equals 20%, value 50 equals 100%
fanSpeed = 10

; display flubber blob in wireframe mode
flubberWireFrame = 0

; display the TM logo
displayTmLogo = 1

; define the xbox logo background color
xLogoBackgroundColor = ff000000

; enable VGA patch (currently not working)
enableVgaPatch = 0

; stop bios to boot DVDs
disableCdromBoot = 0

; xbox LED color, 0 = off, 15 = green, 240 = red, 255 = orange, 83 = cycle
ledColor = 15

; blob radius * 10
blobRadius = 23

; do blob "pulse"
blobPulse = 1

; do fast animation
fastAni = 0

; apply interlace filter on startup
iFilter = 0

; enable transparency on mslogo
msLogoTransEn = 1

; ms logo transparency color
msLogoTransColor = 00ff00f6

; no flubber machinery
noFlubBg = 0

; no startup sound
noSound = 0

; show ms logo
showMsEn = 1

; show x logo
showXEn = 1

; do spikey blob
spikeyBlob = 0

; slow motion blob (ugly)
slowMoBlob = 0

; release all debug monitor memory after launching xbe
useAllMemory = 0

; no x logo light
noLightEn = 0

; color of x logo light
xLightColor = ff000000

Now ftp the file to your F:/ drive is you have a large hard drive or E:/ if you are using the stock hard drive. If you can't ftp then just burn the file to a cdrw and then copy it onto your xbox using UnleashX / Avalaunch / XBMC File Manager or BoXplorer !

thanks for the .ini file.  When i changed all the 1's to 0's like Janne stated, it worked.

Just loaded a game off the hd, and went through quite a few of the apps.

Hard drive is showing 100gigs full that actually arent, so ill have to see what that is all about!

Thank you so much hackdabox and Janne.  You two made my purchasing of this god-awful, unupdated thing called a modchip worthwhile.

Great to hear some success stories at last !

CODE

; enable igr
igrEnabled = 1

; do not reset when pressing on eject
noResetOnEject = 1

; patch away xbox live connectivity code
patchXboxLive = 1

These three codes above are the ones i think may need to be changed ... anyone wanna try changing just one and testing , then revert it back and try another untill you find the one code that needs changing to 0 ?

No problem..  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

HackDaBox: I'm pretty sure it's "igr (in game reset)" thats not working correctly. It was the first thing i changed when i got it to work. The thing is that all was working great and i was playing a game, then i used the igr and when it started up again it was all screwed up.

Someone should try to just change the igr setting so it's off (0)

1 means ON and 0 Means OFF

so it should be changed to :

; enable igr
igrEnabled = 0

PS! It seems like the more thats loaded during boot the more it will be screwed, But you will all have to try it out changing one after another to see if it makes a differens, One setting thats screwes up my xbox might actually work on yours, so for best results make some changes, save and reboot to see if it got better or wourse

I got a copy of the x2config.ini and changed the options from 1 to 0. It however did not work for me. The ini file is used though because I also changed the flubber animation options and those worked.

Not sure what I am missing. I am going to try and install an app myself to see if that will work since all I have tried so far is what Slayers installed.

Great find on the INI file though, and these forums rule for its contribution factor.
