and its me again :

try to flash your SpiderOS with the newest release 1.12

http://forums.xbox-s...howtopic=454400

If you also tried m8 on bank 1 reflash this bank with the spider test bios.

after installing the new spider OS i needed also to reflash x2 on bank3.
my system was stable since then.

if you cant load any app at all try the following :

- boot spider os
- shut down xbox
- set switches to boot bank3
- boot again

after this procedure all my apps worked again. before flashing 1.12 i needed to do this everytime after i player a game from hdd.

hopefully i could help.

try the following :

- install x2 on bank 3, install newest spider bios
- get slayers cd
- install it on your hdd
- reboot original bios (chip off)
- boot evox and try to get in avalaunch, normally i have more than a 50 % chance that i can launch apps and games from my hdd there

                - spider gx
                - X2 5035  in bank3
                - X2congif.ini on f:  (no 1, only 0)

the jumpers of my HDD were on "cable select" position, i changed for "master" position and now, i can run games without problem but not apps like xbmc or MSdashboard. I will try with the M8 bios in bank1 ...see you later...

well, this week i had enough if it.

I ordered a Xecuter 3.0CE and had a friend solder it in for me,
he had it soldered in no time, i didnt even tried to solder those pins, way to small for me.

Flashed it with the latest x3 bios and all problems solved.
The "old" SpiderGX is going to be installed in my bosses xbox, which is a 1,5 or 1.4.

i strongly reccommend a other chip if you got a 1.6 and a spiderGX, Atleast until they patched this problem.

Is the Xecuter 3.0CE a good chip for a 1.6B  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/uhh.gif)  ? If I buy another chip and it is as crapy as the Spidergx I will be more than a little upset  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/muhaha.gif)  .  I have tryed everything in these forums, by the way you guys rock  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) , but I have finally accepted that my money is down the drain and I need to buy a new chip.  Any sugestions would be great.

I works better then the spidergx. everything is working fine.
Loading games and apps from harddisks, or inserting a dvd after the dash has booted

mine is a 1.6a, a friend of mine whit more experience in electronics said it was easy to install with the lpc rebuild board, but those smd pins look very small to me. After all the wires where connected we turned the xbox on and it booted directly to flashbios, uploaded the newest x3 bios (following the x3ce tutorial) and the problems were solved.

there is also a solderless solution for the X3,

Im still going to install the spidergx in a older xbox to see if it works.
I e-mailed spidergx about this problem last week, and even included a link to this tread but no reply yet

At least the spidergx is easy to remove wink.gif

it's no more fun at all.

The hole day i've been working on it now.

Tried M8 Bios and X2 5035... M8 only blackscreen and reboot...
Tried EvoX, UnleashX, Slayer CD, X-Disk CD .... nothing works....

X-Box, however, 1.6a , SpiderOS 1.12, and the X2 bios on bank 3.
Played with the *.ini , no work, apps don't start.

Will now try avalaunch....

bit I NEED HELP, I'm getting crazy !

So i gave the spiderGX another try

*tried* to install it ub a 1.0 xbox.
after modifying the screw hole a bit al the leds are working as it should be
but ik keeps fragging.

i think it is because it isn't alined properly.
im going back to my friend to try to solder it in.
if that doesn't work, i give up.

Allright guys i know there are lots of people having issues with Spider GX and xbox V1.6 in the fact that it won't boot any xbe ( program file ) after the main dashboard.

You basically have 2 options ...

( 1 ) send the chip back and exchange it for any other solderless chip. Awesome chips include the X3 , X2.6 , Xenium Spice !!!

( 2 ) use the spider gx to boot Auto Installer Deluxe V2.11 deluxe so you can softmod your hard drive. This way you can softmod your xbox without solderring or needing any special games or memory cards !!!

To softmod your xbox using the Spider GX just install and flash the Spider GX as normal. Download AID 2.11 final and burn the ISO to a DVD-R using DVD Decrypter. Inseret AID 2.11 final and boot the xbox. Install a softmod and a dashboard. Now remove the spider and store it for safe keeping. You can use it with AID 2.11 final to softmod more xboxes too  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Now you can run all apps with no restrictions and if your softmod should ever go wrong you can plug the spider back in and boot AID 2.11 final and format your hard drive and reinstall a softmod again.

I saved my CPLD code that was doing this exact thing since this only took a minute to fix in the shop when I was setting up fat chuy. This freezing while loading isn't a problem the end user will fix. This is really bad news for this chip because you'll not have a software update to fix this (imo).

If there is a homebrew solution it involves flashing one bios (256k) in all four banks and try loading then. See if that helps this specific problem as far as launching from the dashboard goes. You could at least retore Aladdin functionality this way, perhaps.

Other than that it's a catastrophic failure in scam proportions and I'm happy not to be associated with this is any manner. All the chips deployed have to be recalled to even look legit and how easy is it to find this before deploying any chips as in testing? It's just a mess.
