Sodered In Spiderchip 1.1 Into Xbox 1.0 And Still Doesn't Work!

If you have access to another modded xbox then try the spider in that , just ground d0 on the notherboard and the spider should boot - if it works then the chip is fine and it must be a problem with your motherboard !

If it doesn't work then boot from the other chip and then hotswap to flash the spider with a working bios ! test the spider again and make sure it works before you put it in the original xbox !

Pictures tell a thousand words ... can you post some !

Did you solder in a pin header ? if yes check you have used enough solder ( you shouldn't be able to see the ring that goes around each lpc hole ) also make sure you did not use too much solder and 2 lpc points are bridging !

Sodered In Spiderchip 1.1 Into Xbox 1.0 And Still Doesn't Work!

I soldered my spider in too. Same problems. I got the Xbox on Ebay and it had a previous screwed up chip install that I had to fix. Now I have found the the weirdest solution to get my Spider to work. While frusttrated at the 3rd solder install attempt with everything looking and measuring good, I started poking all around the chip and motherboard with my finger. WAM.  All of a sudden the spider BIOS loaded. I finally found that touching LPC pin #11 with no pressure nessassery it starts. I soldered a wire to it and started laying it in different spots thinking that for some reason it was heat sensitive, but its not. I'm pretty new to this Mod stuff so I figure maybe anything is possible. Anytime I touch the wire insulation or bare with my finger or hand it loads properly. I have a 3rd party controller and have bought a M$ one yet to further test the chip, but I assuming that it is. I just have to touch the wire till it loads. Maybe its the screwed MB with my Xbox, something strange with the Spider I got, or maybe something I overlooked while repairing the MB, but maybe this strange fix might help. Sorry for the long boring response.
