So what are you afraid of? Just flash the other bank with a evox m8.

Or instead of putting 2 banks with the SAME bios, you can flash the remaining bank with the Flashbios one. That way if you ever screw up the other one, you can reflash without needing a second chip, or you can use it to flash other chips. I would AT LEAST use a different bios in that one, possibly for experimentation. Or go with the highly configurable newer versions of the X2 bios.

i also leave the other bank a flashbios for safety purposes.
you never know when someone accidentally flashes the current bank.

with a fresh install of the duox, i boot to the flash bios screen. just before i flash, i flip the switch to flash the other bank.  this way i still have the flashbios on the other bank.

my routine exactly, but it sounds like he has the blue chip.

well lou, i'd say don't worry about it if you are intimidated by the flashing process. if you've got the balls, it's a good idea to put a flash program on your extra BIOS bank.

get flashbios off of xbins (512KB image), and use evox, or something like that, to flash it (don't forget to flip to your reserve bank before initiating the flash).
