Chipped Mobos 3 Are In Need Of Help
« on: December 13, 2007, 09:41:00 PM »

So i got my four motherboards back from my installer. Past installer now. Never had this problem before. I got 3 motherboards that are all bad installed with duox2's.  2 of the mobos {1.6's} reboot 3 times when turned on then flash red and green. The third one {1.1} comes on then goes right off no video sound reboot... notta. Any leads as to whats happening??

check to make sure ALL wires are installed properly, and that there are no solder splashes, also, try to reflash the bios (or have someone near you do it if you are unsure as to how to do it). your xbox is fragging on the first 3.
the last one has a power short.

Have you tried the switch on the DuoX2 in both positions? One bank is a Cromwell BIOS for v1.0-1.5. The other bank is for the v1.6 boxen.

That last box sounds like it has a real problem, unfortunately.

Then i  just turned it on and bam....Then i flashed the chip got the hd installed...  then it started locking up on flubber screen and now its fraggin again. What is this xboxes problem???? I flipped the switch on the chip it did nothing still frags. Gimmie some clues guys??!!??? Im gonna play round with the other 1.6 and 1.1 see what i find.

Ps. These xboxes are all christmas presents for kids. I have to get em going no matter what even if i gotta overnight them to my new installer and have them repaired. I will not have any part in ruining a kids most awaited xmas presents...ill give up my personal mobo with smartxx chip before that...

take some pics of the mobo on both sides of each box, and of all the wire installation areas as well so we can help you out better. it's hard to get a picture out of words and descriptions.

The other fragging 1.6 isnt fraggin. I was wrong. Simply so much going on here i caint keep up. Its comming on but has no video or sound. No fraggin same green glow as normal simply no video or sound.

I was wrong about the 1.1 it is fraggin. No video or sound reboot 3 times and flash red green. I jumped to conclusions too fast last night. I was mad and lost my cool.

I have checked all 3 of these mobos closely and found no problems. The soldering seems great and everything is in its place. These two mobos have not had their chips flashed. Ive also tried flippin the switch on the chip with no avail. What can i do. help me please

kyle

ps. jesus christ on a crutch...mobos are a beeotch to take pics of between the glare and the crappy camera you wont see much. sorry isnt worth posting

The 1.6 that comes on but is blank is most likely a 1.6B. these boards do not work correctly and give blank screen on the flashbios bank so must be flashed via Bank 0.
Were all these machines working before you sent the boards away?
If they were then the installer has to have damaged the boards in some way.
