White Duox2 Bt Problem
« on: October 13, 2007, 07:23:00 PM »

Hi all, to sum up a long story, I bought a Duo X2 GS Cromwell edition to get a 1.4 Xbox working. I also have a 1.0 box that I am trying to fix using this chip (to restore the TSOP flash).

My question is this: while soldering the chip in one time to fix the 1.0, the soldering iron was left on the BT point (on the mod chip) a little too long. It is now burnt somewhat and will not take solder easily. I was trying to link it to the G point since I do not need it for XBL. Is there an alternate point on this chip that I can use? I know there is one on the blue version, but the white does not have that particular IC.

Any help would be appreciated, I really don't want to waste more money on this Xbox.

Ok, I have been looking at this chip a bit more and have another question. The BT point is linked by a trace to another small point on the chip (a few mm away). Would soldering a wire to this point work? I have attached a picture showing what I mean (thanks to X-S for the original!)

Go for it. But I don't know how you are going to fix a TSOP with a modchip. There are ways but I don't think any of them work on a 1.4.

I should have written that post differently, the 1.4 is not TSOP modded, I am using it only with the mod chip. I am going to try flashing the 1.0 TSOP with the mod chip, if I can get it working. And I think I will try that point, the mod chip is almost useless anyway, if this BT wire can't be soldered.

Fix/mod..whichever. You can' flash the TSOP if you've booted from the LPC.

StrictPuppet has a guide to flashing from a mod chip on 1.0-1.3, so I will see if that works.

That hole in the chip that I pointed out is not metal, and will not take the wire.  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif)

And my BT point is burnt past the point of being useful now. Is there any other way to use this? I don't even need the MS BIOS...
