So I have a v1.0 that is FRAGing, and I was told that i could install this chip and fix it more or less (by bypassing the TSOP. I was told that It was FRAGing because the TSOP toast or on its way) I ordered the chip and have a couple questions.  

Since the chip will be configured in the always on position, Can i just leave the BT wire off because i don't want it to try to boot from the TSOP because it dosent work.

My other question is, once I get the Duox2 installed, do i have to flash over cromwell or flash bios to get it to boot to the drive and unlock the drive? the drive is a 250gb drive with a softmod installed already.

Thanks so much for the fast reply.

so I can just ground out the d0?? Sounds good, one less pad to lift haha. (should i just ground it to one of the standoff holes? the hole where the screw goes through the mobo to hold it to the case)

So once i get the chip installed on the lpc, can i just turn it on? will it boot at all? and is the ultimate boot dvd a autorun disc? should I just torrent this? is there a good place to get it from, like a place i can trust and actually know that it is what im looking for?  Thanks so much

Grounding the d0 causes the box to boot from the LPC, but the chip isnt 'enabled' so it still frags.  Connect the d0 wire to the chip where it is supposed to be, then jumper the BT pad on the chip to pin 9 on the chip.  I am almost positive just grounding the d0 does not work with a duox2.

This advice is spot on.
Some of the lite + GS chips boot without anything on BT but can boot unreliably leaving a signal line disconnected. The earlier Duo chips do not enable with BT left off no matter what you are told . I have tried it many time before whilst experimenting with different set ups.
So follow the advice of StrictPuppet and you will be fine.

Not a good idea leaving BT floating, but it is your choice.
The earlier DuoX 2 as stated do not boot with BT left disconnected. Even if you have the later GS or Lite (as previously stated) I would connect BT to pin 9 for long term stability and reliable boot.

Chancer, thanks for the link in your sig for the install, its very good, very easy to understand, the info on that site is great.

As well, what should I look for as far as a auto run dvd goes?  any specific version? the hdd currently is locked, and i have done the splinter cell exploit with krazies nDure.  I have the unleash x dash, the evox dash and XBMC all on the box.

(im sure there is a good tutorial on what to do after you have the chip physically installed, can anyone point me in that direction?

it used to be on Xbins. Not sure if it still is.
It is only a disc copy of the evox flash utility with the relevant bios files added in.
Eurasia will flash the chip easily even with a hacked bios already on it.

Ah ok, so its nothing special.  When you say Eurasia.. i know of the site.. but your speaking in context of a specific package.. can i get it from the Eurasia site?

yes you can get the Eurasia pro generic flash disc content from it. It is a Linux based flash app (Legal)

Update on this.  So i booted flashbios and flashed via http the M8+ bios and then ended up going back to the x24881.67 bios. and formated the whole drive and redid all of my installs. worked great except xbmc dosent pick up my g drive unlike every other dash i have.  Anyway thanks for everyones help.
