Hi I have just installed this chip myself and after doing a lot of searching and reading I am planing to flash it with the X2 5035 bios which will let you use something like Slayer's to set up a new HD. As soldering take a read through the tuts on this site.

Search is your friend.

Make sure to flash with a512k bios and make sure it is the correct bios for your version of Xbox.
You acn use any IDE HDD just about and use an Autoinstaller to format and build the drive.
Install tut is in my sig.

I don't mean to hi-jack this thread but since it is about the same mod chip that I am trying to use...

I have a V1 Xbox and the Duox2 GS and the install went fine, everything boots the right way. I boot to the flash bios and select the disc option but it keeps coming back No BIOS update found. I have tried CD-RW, Memorex DVD-R, DVD+RW and it just doesn't seem to be working. The DVD drive is a Philips, and I'm trying the X2 5035 BIOS or M8+

Is it just the media do you think?

Media or the way you made the disc.
Disc should have 2 files
BIOS.BIN  (Your 512k bios)
aabbcc.dat  (Dummy file of about 100mb)
Should be burned as a plain and simple data disc. No special stuff needed and DON'T make it into an XISO

I tried to make a BIOS disc. I never could get it to read. Anyways, for me the easier way was to flip to Bank 1 and use FLASHBIOS. Just connect your box to the computer and type in the IP that comes up on the screen. Select your bios and flash. If you decide to go this route insted I suggest looking up some networking tuts.
