Question For Installing Dou X2 Lite In Version 1.0 Xbox
« on: January 02, 2007, 02:41:00 PM »

I have installed a Duo X2 GS in a v 1.6 xbox but im wondering what i need for a 1.0 xbox that im installing a lite chip in.  Can someone point me in the right direction here because im wondering for a 1.0 if you need to do a LPC rebuild.  Cause it seems like every guide i find they just tell you to solder in the chip to the header, mount the header and then solder the D0 point and your done.... is this all you need to do?

Indeed it is. No need for any LPC rebuilding on 1.0-1.4 consoles

On a 1.0, your LPC holes will be filled with solder, however... You can either use desoldering braid to remove the solder so you can install the male header, or you can just quick solder the chip directly to the board.

Also, on a non-1.6 system it is recommended that you reflash the bios on the chip to x2 4983 or 5035 (512k!), as the chip comes preflashed with m8plus_16.

Doesnt the Duo X2 lite come with an evox version compatible with xbox versions 1.0 - 1.5?  Cause thats what the bank 0 is for.... and then theres the bank 1 for xbox version 1.6.

Correct me if im wrong.

The LITE chip only has one 512k bank.

The 'normal' GS chips have 2 512k banks, which either com preflashed with x2 4979 and m8plus_16 (import blue version) or flashbios 3.0.3 and cromwell (flashbios/cromwell white version).
