If you want the easiest solution you want the Blue DuoX 2. This is pre-flashed with a hacked bios.
Yes you can flash the retail MS bios to one of the banks

Yes, you have to flash the chip unless it is one of the preflashed ones like chancer said.

There is a good comparison guide for bios which can be located on the X-S main page  wink.gif

Fit the chip you ordered. Use bank 0 if the box is not a 1.6. Use bank 1 if the box is a 1.6.
That's it. No need to reflash a Blue one. It will play back ups straight from the supplier

Sweet. Thanks for the very straightforward explanation. smile.gif I realized this when I found the modchip comparison on the main site.

Are there any OBVIOUS places to find general information about all things mod-related, other than the few docs I've read like the FAQ, etc?
