If D0 has a good connection and some of the LPC pins are not soldered on good then it should frag. I agree with Chancer its your D0 connection.

And now...its doing it again...perhaps I am the worlds worst solderier

Is it worth trying the top side D0 point, I currently use the ALT D0?
