Solderless Adapter
« on: August 05, 2006, 12:32:00 AM »

OK I know solderless adapters are looked down up. But I have had a couple people come to me to fix failed soft mods. I don't like taking the time to solder in a pin header just to retrieve EPROM info. So I was wondering what would be a quick solderless solution for a duox 2 Cromwell? Thanks

Any solderless adapter that supports 5v will work fine.. You'll need to solder a jumper between d0 and pin 4 on the chip and you should solder one between BT and pin 9 as well. Then just stick it on the solderless adapter header and you're good to go.

Adapters that work:

Xecuter xapter, xapt3r (1.0-1.4), xapt3r (1.6; you need to solder the 5v wire to the 5v pin on the chip though)

Xodus Universal Solderless Pro Adapter (1.0-1.4, 1.6)... (The xodus only version wont work as it doesn't have 5v, but the newer ones that come with the gold 24k chips are all the universal ones anyways).
