Flashing With Mac
« on: July 25, 2006, 04:49:00 PM »

I just got it to work via a network flash. Took me 20 or 30 times to realize BIOS.BIN has to be capitalized.

And here I was thinking it was a PC conspiracy against Mac users.

Nope, spelling and capitalization doesn't matter when network flashing wink.gif It just doesn't take sometimes. If you're flashing and you hit sumbit and it doesn't go to the "Modchip is flashing!" page, then it didn't take. Just hit stop, refresh the page, choose the bios again and hit upload and it'll work wink.gif

I think what you mean by needed it to be capitalized is that the bios disc needs to be an ISO9660 compliant disc with Joilet turned off.  When you have the disc in the right format you can only have filenames 8.3 char...... and the letter will show as capitals since  upper and lower case are the same thing for ISO9660

appleguru, you should know better.  If he uses network flash then yes it doesn't matter, but at first it didn't work cause he couldn't burn the disc properly.  And for that disc it needs to comply with ISO9660 and I hope you know that one.

Of course.. But he was having difficulties netflashing from the beginiing, and assumed it was fixed when he changed his bios name to all caps.. which just happened to be a coincidence.
