Duox2 Pc Programming
« on: July 25, 2006, 09:16:00 AM »

I am new to the X-box modding scene, and would like to mod this 1.3 Xbox with a chip.

The Duox2 (white, Cromwell) chip seems to foot the bill for my needs, except that it seems it is not PC programmable yet (I don't have any other X-boxes available, hacked or not, available to hot flash)

Is this so, and if so, is there any other suitable decent cost effiecient boards that ARE PC programmable (with hand built LPC programmer preferably).

What do you define as "PC programmable" ? If you are reffering to flshing the bios you have 2 ways to do thet. via a disk you burn your self, or via http. Both are easy and I have done both.

Removing the board from the xbox and connecting to a rather simple programmer (one can easily build) connected to the PC. and running an app on the PC to load the bin file to the chip. Perhaps as a last resort though, if something happens to render both BIOSes unbootable.

3rd, to a CD flashing or HTTP/FTP flashing, would be to flash from a USB memory stick, as a first resort though.

As far as I know the duox 2 is not programable by connecting it to a computer. it's a pretty basic chip with 2 banks. I have not heard of using a usb memory stick. I could be wrong with this info, I just have never seen these things done.
