Usually chips do not come with instructions. Here is a guide to install the Duox2. http://www.hackdabox...x2_Install.html

Also, is your duox2 chip white or blue? The blues come preflashed, but the whites don't. Make sure you know what version you have before soldering. v1.6 requires more soldering than v1.0-v1.5. I think about 5 extra wires need soldering.

To determine your xbox version use this guide. http://** Banned on Xs **_version.htm
With the white version, you will have to flash the BIOS yourself.

My bad.. Do not use that link. Go on Xbox-scene and click a tutorial to determine the xbox version. Basically the chip under your DVD drive.

Side question: I put mortal kombat in my pc to see how big the cd was and it only says 13.8mb, why does this seem soo far off?

a pc dvd drive cant read xbox disks, the only thing it will read is the 13.8mb file, thats why.

There is a full install guide I wrote for these chips in the link in my signature. (Other sites have it too reproduced with permission).
What stage exactly are you at now with the install, flashing etc?

Make sure the board is clean.

For the pinheader, make sure you are heading the metal ring and the pin with the iron and then meltin the solder against that and not against the iron.

For the D0, use the bottom D0 as it is bigger and much easier to work with.

BTW, what version do you have so we can gpive you more soldering advice.

Yes I am being serious. Soldering in the pinheader is very easy to do and the usual reason solder does not flow into the joint is lack of heat to adequately melt the solder and heat the work area at the same time.

There are no led's on at all.
Mine is a v1.6 and I followed this install.
http://www.hackdabox...x2_Install.html

Even if I didn't have every wire on the chip soldered, it should still turn on, right?

If I'm reading this correctly, if I have anything but a 1.6 I can just solder the pin header to the chip and do a d0 and a bt and that's it?

EDIT: wait a min. why does the BT connect to the back of the eject button on these directions: http://www.fixnchipz.co.uk/page9.html but on the other directions it shows an alternate point.
