I may just install BT the way its suposed to be done. I can always remove if I change my mind .. Still would like to know which option is more stable (If one is actually more stable heh)

Another question

If you reboot the Xbox from dash (XBMC) with BT attached normally (to the rear of the eject button) will it boot MS BIOS or will the chip boot first?

Connected to pin 9 is needed for an always on installation on the non-GS/non-lite chips (IE, the older ones).. For the GS and Lite Series, while it will likely work fine with BT open/disconnected, it's always better just to tie it high (3.3v, IE, to pin 9) than to leave it open as an open connection is subject to interference/etc and may not always behave as intended.

If you reboot from XMBC or a dashboard it will be with the modchip on.
